I'll Be Your Man

River leaned to the handrail by the stairs of the University – she just messaged him to pick her up. When the well-known voice of that amazing-funny machine reached her, her heart jumped and beat so fast she thought it will spring out of her breast. She stood on her legs but shook in whole body. She haven't feel like this before. She did not know she could feel like this before.

The Doctor stepped out from the box and leaned against the door. There she was, so young, so fresh, so full with hope and love. She stepped one step towards him and started to run – and he stood on his legs and smiled widely. He loved her youngness every time.

She reached him and he threw his arms open but she stopped before him and shook hard. Her eyes went wide and her voice was fade.

'Is that you?... Is that really you? Doctor?' She stammered and a single tear falled from her eye.

The Doctor lowered his arms as his face went worried.

'What's wrong, River?' He stepped closer. She neared one more step and touched his face. He grabbed her hand and give a small kiss on it.

'It's really you. Oh goodness it is really you!' Her face lightened and she grinned like a kid.

'Of course it's me. You messaged me, I came. As always. I always come.'

She fell in his arms and cried by happiness.

'It's you, it's really you! I found you! Oh how many years I wasted on studiing your journeys and couldn't find you but one line and you came. You are here!' she sobbed.

'Of course I'm here.' he squeezed her. 'Why didn't you text me earlier? I would came sooner.'

'Yes.' she stepped back. Her face was full of smile. 'I know that now.' she searched his eyes. He frowned and stepped back one step.

'River...' He cleaned his troath. 'River, tell me... when are we?' he wringed his hand.

She frowned.

'How do you mean?'

'The small blue book. What did you do with it?'

She started to fumble in her bag rapidly and pulled it out. It was very new and unused at all. He sighed and smile.

'Didn't you write in it?' he asked and refused to take it from her.

'Write what?' She asked.

'Right then.' He sighed. It meant she was very young.

'Aah, the University!' He stepped from in front of her and opened his arms to the building. 'You know I was always happy about your choise. The Luna University. Best establishment of higher education in the 52nd century. I'm proud of you River Song.'

He turned back and saw her frowning and crossing her arms before her chest.

'What's?...' he asked confused.

'First of all: how long do we know each other? Two years?'

'Well, for me... I think it was a bit more than a hundred years but sometimes you loose counting in a time machine.'

She narrowed her eyes and stepped forward. He swallowed hard. He was afraid even of this very young version of her when she got angry.

'So you met me one hundred years ago and did not visit me?'

'Sorry: what?!' He frowned.

'You've got a time machine, and forgot to come and see me all those times?'

Her voice was more sad then angry now. She was so young... He only realized it now.

'No, don't think I forgot. Never!' He stepped closer and hugged her tight and sighed.

'Oh River... Never think I would forget you. I could not forget you, never!'

He kissed in that beautiful curly blond hair.

'Than how could you spend that time without me?!' She punched his chest.

'Ouch!' he let out and pulled her back by her shoulders.

'River. Let me explain.'

'You'd better.' she nodded.

'Right. Right.' He relaxed his hold on her shoulder. 'Let's go into the TARDIS.'

He stepped for and opened the door. She smiled a bit: she loved that beautiful machine. She did not understand how, but she knew her every piece. She followed him and stepped over the door. She felt her humming and felt her everywhere around her. She looked around and grinned – and the Doctor watched her and smiled. He stood by the fences of the consol and let her enjoy her quite-as-mother's being there. She caught his eyes and frowned and crossed her arms.

'So explain.'

He sighed and offered her a seat. She sat down and crossed her legs too.

'So. You understand we don't meet in the right order, don't you?'

'Yes but what does it mean? How do I know when we'll meet again?' she asked and he sighed.

'You don't. I don't know either.' he smiled sadly. 'We never know.'

'Then how do we meet? We don't travel together, do we?' she frowned.

'No. We don't – although it would be great!' his face lightened. 'Imagine: River Song and the Doctor, saving the universe, together!' his joy faded 'But no. We don't.'

'Why?' her face was more sad now than spying.

'Oh, lot of things.' he sighed. She looked at his sadness with worry and took his hand. He shook his head and continued.

'Invisible wires keeping us apart. Things we'll never understand or accept. But we don't have any other choices.'

'Oh, there are many choices!' she threaped.

'But they're all disappointments. And they only steal me away from you. You can't imagine how many things I did to keep you beside me but it never worked...'

'You say...' she frowned again.

'Nno, you would never leave me.' he smiled sadly at her. 'Here's a spoiler for you.'

She laughed a bit.

'Spoiler. I heard that word when we first met. Well, when I first met you. You said it when you said my name – when I haven't knew it yet.'

'Sssh.' he put his finger on her lips. 'Nuh that's a spoiler.' he smiled but she frowned by disunderstanding.

'You can't speak to me about ourselfs, just when you are sure I passed it through too. That's we use the word 'spoilers' for.'

He looked at her seeing if she understood it and she nodded.

'I understand invisible wires now.' she puckered up her lips. He smiled at her.

'So how do we communicate? How do we know what can we say and what we can't?'

He sighed and smiled.

'That's what the blue book is for.'

She frowned.

'It's a diary.'

She frowned on.

'It's your diary.'

Her face was unchanged. He sighed.

'You put down your experiences with me, so you can ask me a word, and you'll know I am through it or not. It's how we know about each other.'

She frowned on but took the blue box out from her bag and looked with an other glance on it. He waited for her reaction. But she surprised him, as every time.

'So – do you have a diary with all of our adventures?' she looked at him. He freezed. He did not expected this. He laughed from confuse but stood up and started to drag his jacket for his diary.

'Aha!' he cried out victoriously. He pulled out a tiny blue notebook from his confineless pocket. She frowned.

'You don't say your pocket is also 'bigger on the inside'?'

'You have to store those handful lot of things somewhere.' he protested with a hint of flirt in his voice.

'Okay.' she blushed a bit. He knew she was very very young. She never blushed while flirting.

'Can I have a look?' she asked curiously and reached for the little book.

'What not!' he snatched it away from her reach. 'You can't have a look on your future. It's against rules.'

'What rules? Like rule one?' she pulled her eyebrows.

'No, not like that! It's the universal rules. Forknowledge can be dangerous.' he remembered the Tesselecta – and what he downloaded from it. Forknowledge can be dangerous, yes. He wasted lot of time running from death. He should came here earlier instead of getting information and planning the escape. It was so much more better there: with River; explaining their relationship, giving advices, showing the way to this young and unknowing girl... He smiled at her with love and she frowned but smiled back.

'I know what.' she pulled her eyebrows and gave him a flirting smile. He clasped his hands and stepped closer to her.

'Yes, miss Song?' he asked flirting.

'I'm your wife, am I not?' she flirted back.

'Yes you are.' he stepped one step closer.

'Make a try: tonight let's be honest.' she stood up and stepped in front of him.

'Alright: aside with rule one.' his face was just inches apart from hers.

'Oh I'm not talking about speaking.' she swung her head.

'Then what are you talking about?' he asked frowning.

'Oh don't be stupid!' she laughed. They were fallen out of role. 'You know what I am talking about.' she touched his chest gently.

'No, I'm not.' he said frowning.

'Let your hands feel the way.' she took his hand and put it on her waist and pulled him closer.

'Oooh I see.' he realized her pourpose. He closed in on her and looked deep into her eyes.

'Do you love me?' she asked with a small angst in her voice.

'Darling you got me wanting you.' he leaned down to kiss her but she pulled herself away.

'No. I asked if you loved me. We all want to be wanted, but I want to know if do you love me or not.' her voice was full with worry and angst. He sighed and pulled her back into a tight hug.

'Oh River Song, how could anyone not to love you?! You are the most beautiful, most brave, most lovely woman I've ever met in past or future – but everything that I'm trying to say just sounds like a worn out cliché.'

He pulled her back by her shoulder and searched her eyes deep. She bowed her head and shook it.

'I do love you, River Song, Melody Pond, the woman who killed the Doctor. You are my life, my everything. And what are we all looking for? Someone we just can't ignore? River, I could never ignore you. It's real love dripping from my hearts – you got me trippin'.' he smiled at her and he got a hint of smile back from her.

'So I've got you tripping?' she lifted her head and looked into his eyes.

'Yeah, you've got me. And from now, you've climbed into our private bubble and got into all kinds of trouble.' he laughed a bit.

'I don't mind, till you are here for me.'

'I'm here for you, every time. I'll be your man, and I'll aim to be a good man for you.'

'You've better.' her eyes were glancing with play again.

'Yes I know.'

'What did you say about those all kinds of trouble?' she was playing with his collar. He smiled with desire and pulled her more closer if it was possible.

'What did you say about to be honest?'

'I said let your hands feel the way. There's no better method to communicate.' She said just inches apart from his lips.

'So girl stop your talking – words just get in the way.' he said and kissed her passionately. She pulled him towards the corridor while kissing.

'Do we have a room?' she asked when she got a little space.

'Of course we have.' he said and grabbed her hand and pulled her after him as she laughed.

'Oh I do love you you incredibly stupid man!' she giggled.

'And you can show me that now.'

'Oh yes and I will.' she pushed him to the wall to kiss him again with desire.

'I know.' he said when he got air. And he pushed their room's door in.

'Let's get into all kinds of trouble.' he repeated her words.

And she followed him in the room and knew he would never leave her alone, not again.
